Mr Edwin Khew shares on the Green-sector in Singapore

Distinguished Business Leader,
Mr Edwin Khew

Networking amongst Overseas

Mr Edwin Khew, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of IUT Global Pte Ltd, engaged with 75 Overseas Singaporeans (OS) and friends during the 23rd Distinguished Business Leaders (DBL) Series in San Francisco, USA, on Friday, 2 October 2009.

Mr Khew gave the audience a glimpse on Singapore’s Green Business Master Plan and shared some of the successes that Singapore has achieved so far. The audience was impressed with IUT’s patented process that could convert food waste into green electrical power. This not only helped to reduce greenhouse gas emission, it is also an effective solution to recycle organics back to the environment by creating bio-compost. The virtual tour of the IUT Global’s power plant enthralled the audience as they could see how the concept of Green energy was being realised.

The audience found Mr Khew’s sharing to be very informative and gained a better understanding of how the government is working hand-in-hand with private corporations to develop the Green-sector in Singapore. Following Mr Khew’s sharing, the audience engaged him in a candid question-and-answer session that touched on the future directions on the adoption of renewable energy as well as challenges in raising the environmental friendly consciousness and habits at the national level. OS took the opportunity to get up close and personal with Mr Khew during the dinner reception to get a deeper insight to his entrepreneurial success in this relatively new field in Singapore. With an interesting speaker, great company of fellow OS, and delicious food, it was certainly a night to remember.
