The personal journey of Dr Teh Kok Peng

Distinguished Business Leader,
Dr Teh Kok Peng

Dr Teh Kok Peng, President of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Special Investments (GIC SI) spoke to close to 120 Overseas Singaporeans (OS) and friends of OS during the 21

A light hearted sharing session with
our OS

Good ol’ Singapore food

Dr Teh shared with the audience on his personal journey on how he became a Singapore citizen, his life-changing decision in deciding to join the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) while working in the World Bank in Washington D.C, and eventually moving on to GIC.

Dr Teh captivated the audience with his genuine sharing and presented a "real" side of him with whom the audience can relate to. Following Dr Teh’s sharing, the audience engaged Dr Teh in a candid question-and-answer session that centered on the economy and the future of Singapore and its workforce. Many OS took the opportunity to get up close and personal with Dr Teh during the dinner reception and continued to engage him to get a deeper insight to Dr Teh’s thoughts about the economy and the financial sector. It was definitely an enjoyable evening of networking over good food and a learning experience stemming from such an accomplished industry leader such as Dr Teh.
