Better Healthcare Delivery Through Technology

About 102 Singaporeans living, studying and working in San Francisco benefited from an enriching afternoon with Dr Loo.

San Francisco’s fourth Distinguished Business Leaders Series featuring Dr Loo Choon Yong, Executive Chairman of Raffles Medical Group Limited (RMG), took place on 14 November 2010. About 102 Singaporeans living, studying and working in San Francisco benefited from an enriching afternoon with Dr Loo.

The afternoon started with Dr Loo sharing his outlook on the latest developments in Singapore and the region. He added that opportunities were abound given the gradual shift of economic power from the West to the East as the result of the rise of China and India. Noting the high number of Singaporean professionals in the Bay area, he encouraged those who were keen to ride the Asian economic boom to consider relocating back to Singapore.

 

Questions & Answers (Q&A)
Session

Dr Loo also shared his experiences in establishing RMG and its overseas businesses. He elaborated how RMG leveraged on technology to improve their delivery of healthcare services.

Dr Loo gave his views on a diverse range of topics during the Q&A session. This included remuneration and talent retention, how Singapore kept the jobless rate down during the recent global economic recession and the career opportunities for ICT graduates in the healthcare sector.

Singaporeans tucking happily into Singaporean food

Following the Q&A session, Singaporeans tucked themselves into a delectable spread of Singaporean food for lunch. A sense of community was evident on the faces of the Singaporeans present.
