From Incidental Actress to Inspiring Entrepreneur

Find joy and meaning in all you do: Wong Li-Lin

Perhaps best remembered for her role in Channel 5’s TV series, Triple Nine, her stumble upon acting as a career was “incidental” as Wong Li-Lin puts it. The actress-turned-entrepreneur related the circumstances that led to her joining showbiz - She fell into acting when she was talent spotted for a role in a Christmas TV special. That soon led to a career in acting, and later, she took on the role of Inspector Elaine Tay alongside fellow cast members like James Lye, Lim Yu Beng, Robin Leong and Chong Chia Suan.

SG Buzz speaker, Wong Li-Lin delighting the audience with her wit and candor.

At the SG Buzz sessions, she recounted her entrepreneurship journey of how she founded Loopz® Fitness, a fitness regime focusing on movement in everyday life. She spoke about finding fulfillment from her current work as a wellness development coach, working with a wide range of individuals, ranging from physiotherapists, fitness buffs and commandos in the Singapore army on the fitness regime.

Li-Lin expressed appreciation at being the SG Buzz speaker for the Bristol and Birmingham installments. The UK after all held a special place in her heart as she had lived in the UK for several years when she was a student at the Royal Ballet School.

Clearly, she charmed the audience with her sparkling wit, refreshing candor and positive attitude towards life, often drawing laughter from the appreciative Singaporean audiences in both cities.

Li-Lin gamely answered questions from the floor that ran the gamut - from her time in London as a student, her acting career, family life, fitness tips, her entrepreneurial journey, and even chicken rice recipes. At the close of her sharing, Li-Lin encouraged her audience to find joy and meaning in whatever they did and to embrace life.

Over dinner, Singaporeans eager for advice on how they could get into better shape, surrounded Li-Lin for tips, and with a celebrity in their midst, the cameras were working full throttle.

A token of appreciation to Li-Lin, presented by OSU's Overseas Singaporean Liaison (UK), Karolyn.
